I cant remember how I found CTH, I decieded today to find another site. Not that I'm not happy with CTH far from it. It's just that I have so many daft questions that I dont want to hog the boards.
I did varous searches and found a few (non as good as CTH) the thing that puzzeled me was that google never came up with CTH if I dident know it was there I'd never find it.

Hi Gwil....CTH has links in many places on the net..and many referencies.
If you go to "what's going on" click on "currently active users"(bottom left)...check for google spiders in the guests...there will no doubt be a few..always are. They are searching for new and interesting topics to put into google pages. They search forums such as this, as the content is current and constantly changing with new info on current issues.

Did you type into Google, "cyber tech help"?

Ok Ok it's my searching abilities thats at fault, I put in 'computer help forums'
Anyway we dont want thousands of people joining there wont be time for me and my problems which are manyfold. I tell you though of the sites I've seen there's non to mach CTH.

The thing is dammit I think of some really daft questions everyday, like how do you.... whatis......... I think of cybertec as a place where if I have a real problem you solve it. You'd think the number of years I've had a computer I'd get better but it's like my car if it dont go I'm calling a mechanic.

If you type in Computer help, you'll find us on the second page.

Your right Dodge I checked. I think CTH should be top of the first page.
How do they decide what order things go in google, that could be quite an advantage to commercial organisations. does money change hands?

Google uses a system called PageRank to calculate it:

this will not work if you do not know the name of the forum if looking for help. Most will just type "computer help forum" or something similiar.

I remember back in September when I first joined, I found this group in google but it was a page or two back because I found several other forums first and just did not like them.

Who mentioned names of forums?

I merely posted my post saying about Cyber Tech Help, rather than typing in just the initials!!
