PSP versus Photoshop

From those of you with experience, which is better, Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro? I have Paint Shop Pro and I'm just curious......I notice a lot of you talking about Photoshop. Thanks.

Thanks, Kimmy. I'm sure you must be right. Would like to see a few more opinions if you all don't mind! I'd certainly hope it would be easier to figure out than PSP!

Well I can't say Photoshop would be easier Harrie... sorry.

I have no experience with PSP at all. But From what I understand for most things PSP and PS operate a lot alike when doing basic operations. The difference (Other than Photoshop's huge price tag) is that Photoshop will doo 300% more things. Photoshop is used all over the world as the main image editing software in the design industry. It's used for print, web, multi-media, photography... just about anything. So Photoshop is designed to be able to do all those things. And from what I understand PSP is geared towards a home user and is intended to be used for web design and basic image effects. But like I said I have no experience with PSP..... I don't think they make it for the Mac.

Thank you, Buzz! Appreciate your response. If it's the main editing imaging software in the world, that kind of says it right there! Between you and Kimmy that's enough for me to know I'll want it eventually........in the meantime, guess I'll read my instruction books a little more closely and struggle along! Hehe. Well if I weren't so busy messing around on boards, I'd probably have conquered a lot more of it by now!

Thank you both again.

Hey Harrie I've been playing with PS now for I guess three weeks or ten years, depending how you look at it..<IMG SRC="http://palws.tripod.com/gifs/ouchmyears.gif" border=0> .. It's a little over my head "by twenty miles", But I said that when I posted my first post over at apple's tech help a few years back.Topic:Help!!...post was "I can not shut down my computer, where is the off botton?" Well that "thread ?" was 50 plus replies in two hours. All making fun of little old me.

Here is my latest shot at PS that took me two hours just to get it half way correct..

Bill, I'm so glad you replied, too! That's right, you have been using it. Well, I'm just determined to have it now, that's all there is to it. And "that's the way it is, folks!"

Hey,

Bill, Buzz, Kimmy, and any other that tells you photoshop is hard to learn is pretty damn right on the mark !!!

I had a little play with it once - and though the features it has are amazing - it's a pain in the rear to learn lol

Kimmy and Bill appear to have cracked it though

By the way Bill (I post this here cos I know you'll pop by to check this thread)

I am in the final stages of completing an update to the site (haven't uploaded it yet though). I have tested it 100000% in every resolution from 640x480 through to 1024x768 and the resizing problem has been fixed.

ie. I've done the tables better

~ I'm not trying to be funny dude - just giving you an update ~

Well, obviously this stuff takes some buckling down and getting serious! I like that siggie, Bill. Anyway, I can't spend the money now after just recently buying PSP, that would be just........maddening! But I think I'll be prepared to get it eventually. My final take is PS is better, but possibly just as hard to learn! Drats, I like that easy stuff! Now, Bully Beef has me interested in dhtml - lol!

Thanks for the insights, folks. Happy Sunday!

Like I mentioned before Mishy, Its no big deal to me at all. It never really was. Remember when I said "in a private mgs ? or the public board ? Can't recall" that you amaze me everyday with all the knowledge you've got locked up in that brain of yours and that in ten years or so your name will be possibly a house hold name! Well I was at the time more or less joking and a little brown nosing I suppose. Now -----well that could every well become an realistic truth..!...!... Let me know when ya decide to become a corporate so I can buy stock from the very beginning...

Harrie Two topics here.
One: Yes PS is a bit on the overhelming side but just like what Buzz mentioned to me and others once you get the basics down things start popping into place much easier.

Now all I've have to do is get the basics down... Believe me Harrie PS is by
far the best Tool/app/ &lt;-? that one could have....at least I think so at the present. Blah, blah.

Two: Remember when we exchanged background imgs/themes that time! Well I knew you where going on vacation so I didn't want to upset you just before that,so maybe now I can let you know what I received in that transaction...

oops wrong img..edit.edit &lt;-I think thats the pic?

If you recall a long time ago "in a far away world.." that angelfire started not allowing images &lt;--lack of better term---outside thier domain. Talk to Buzz about that. He can explain it far more than I can. Like I mentioned before you went on vacation, if you had that "cloud" background as a backup on your harddrive maybe you could email it to me or something. Although Its no big deal one way or another!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jesssss I'm getting loooonnnggg winded lately...
Have to go check out some other boards where I left some mgs.
Then maybe go back to the vets again on a Sunday!!!!

See you....take care and whatever you do ENJOY IT!
ME

btw--I didn't proof reread this so...

Oh Bill, you should have told me before and not worried about bothering me at all! Anyway, you could never bother me, I like you too much! But look, I gotta run to a party right now (for real)!! and I can't understand what you're saying too good without studying it, (not you - me! I'm slow!) so I'll look into it tonight. Dang, I thought you had that thing! Agree re Mishy. And then we can say, "Well WE knew him when!"
